TREPIDATION IN THE SENATE BY THE DUTERTE RABIDS By Ding C. Velasco

When the seven Senators (Pimentel, Sotto, Gordon, Pakyu, Zubiri, Villar, and Honasan) who did not sign the Senate Resolution condemning EJKs saw public anger over their action; they made a new Senate Resolution of their own downing EJKs as a tool by the Police. They even went further by blaming their 16 colleagues.

Why the turnaround? An SWS Survey commissioned by no one showed that 54% do not believe the "Nanlaban excuse", 24% are less sure and 20% "the Nanlaban excuse".

This means support for EJKs is waning fast, more so that this survey was conducted before the Kian Lloyd and Kulot murders by Caloocan Police. Negative numbers could be higher by October.

This came especially hard on Gordon who made a Committee Report denying the existence of EJKs; and Sotto, Pacquaio, and Honasan were quick to support Gordon in that Committee Report after hearing testimony from Matobato and Lascañas.

Now the seven are running scared. This is good timing for the Impeachment Charges against Chief Justice Sereno, which they should not merely railroad by numbers.

As l said in earlier posts, only a trepidation in the Senate will save VP Robredo, CJ Sereno and Ombudsman Carpio-Morales from trumped-up Impeachment Charges that may be decided by a Senate truly subservient to a malicious Malacañang.

These Seven Senators comprise the most rabid, most unreasonable faction dedicated to pleasing Duterte; when they run scared of mounting negative public perception - that is good news to us Filipinos. (sharing from elsewhere The 7 Deadly Sins")
